How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2009 Dodge Ram 1500?

Use a diagnostic tool to gather and record any past DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) before starting any service or repair on the throttle body. Keep the ignition in the OFF position when you check for binding at the throttle body shaft, as it could otherwise cause DTC's. A factory set screw on the throttle control changes only the throttle position and should not be used to alter idle speed which the PCM sets. To start, remove the negative battery cable from the battery at its connection. After that, take out the air intake tube from the throttle body flange. Remove the throttle body electrical connection and vacuum hoses that are needed. After that, remove the four bolts holding the throttle body mount, then lift the throttle body from its place on the intake manifold. In addition, examine the o-ring on the old throttle body-to-intake manifold.
