2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Power Steering Pressure Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Power Steering Pressure Switch on a 5.7L V-8 Engine on 2009 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: This switch is made for use with 5.7L V-8 engines. The power steering switch should be installed at first into its connecting point in the power steering line. Always place a back up wrench on the power steering line to make sure it does not bend while installing the hose. Make sure the power steering switch is tightly set to a torque ranging from 8 Nm to 11 Nm (70 to 100 in. lbs.). The next step is to attach the electrical connector to the switch. When you have installed everything, see if the level of the power steering fluid is correct and add more if it needs topping up. With the engine starting, look at the power steering fluid levels and add more if required.
