2009 Dodge Viper TPMS Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a TPMS Sensor on 2009 Dodge Viper?
A: Before fitting the sensor, avoid damaging the nearby surface of the wheel while replacing the sealing cap. After you put the sensor on the wheel, tighten the special nut to secure it and lock it so it doesn't turn. The distance from the sensor to the wheel should be equal on each side; tighten it securely to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.) without going overboard. Always follow the instructions from the equipment manufacturer to install the upper bead of the zero pressure tire in order to protect the wheel and tire from damage. When the upper bead of the tire is in place, install either an original or a new OEM valve stem cap over the valve stem. See if there are air leaks around the place where the tyre mounts to the wheel with a soap mixture. Push the tires onto the wheels and finish their assembly with the proper method for wheel weights. We need to place the tire wheel assembly on the car and install the new sensor's code into the TPM module. In the end, use a scan tool to confirm that the TPM module has been coded with the identification values from the new tire pressure sensor and that the memory contains the identifier and pressure thresholds from the new transmitter.
