2009 Jeep Commander Seat Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install and Repair a Second Row Seat Cover on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: Install the second row seat covers by affixing the foam against the frame that holds the seat's backrest. First, fix the new hog ring fasteners to hold down the cover over the foam, then put in the headrest. Attach the back of the seat to the base and tighten it with the side nearest the keel using the outboard fastener to 25 ft. lbs. Put in the seat back bolts, lower the foam and secure it and tighten these bolts to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.). Secure each J-clip holding the seat cover and then join the headrest release cable to the lockout box and attach the lockout box to the seat frame so it is correctly placed over the pin. Secure the two lockout box fasteners to the outboard side, put the seat side trim panels into place and check that the retainer clips are fully in. Rotate the seat unit to the folding position and after you clasp the latches together, cover the seat back with its trim panel and install the child tether. In the center seat, put the foam onto the center seat back frame, thread the seat belt under the foam and cover it completely. Place the seat belt trim bezel over the belt opening, put in the pin type fastener in the armrest and insert the armrest assembly, with the retainer clips snapping into place. Fasten the two armrests with 14 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) and loop the seat back into position with the left fastener at 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.). Fit the right side seat back bolts and tighten them to 55 Nm or 41 ft. lbs. Place the seat back cover tab straps onto the frame, put on the side trim panel covers and snap the retainer clips closed. Fit the latches by moving the seat back down to the lower position, then put the seat back trim cover on and finally wrap up with placing the second row seat trim over the top.
