2009 Jeep Commander Seat Heater Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Install a Replacement Seat Heater on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: When putting in the new heating element, avoid folding or creasing the assembly, because this can cause it to fail early. The factory installed element should be taken away and discarded properly. Take off the adhesive backing at the back of the replacement heating element (2) and place it in the location where the factory placed the heating element (1). After that, wire up the new heating element's electrical parts (3 and 4) and attach the negative terminal of the battery. Subsequent to turning on the heated seat system, see if it actually works. Place the seat cushion in the correct way and make sure that the wire harness for the seat is properly routed through the seat and seat back. Also, make sure the excess wire is tucked safely between the cushion's foam and the trim's rear carpet flap.
