How to Install a Sway Bar Kit for Rear Suspension on 2009 Jeep Compass?

Before installing the rear suspension sway bar kit, measure and cut two slots into the cushions if they do not have them yet. You should place a cushion on each side of the sway bar. In all-wheel-drive trucks, the sway bar loop should go below the axle half shafts. After that, fit the sway bar on the rear crossmember and use the retainers to fasten the two cushions in the mounting holes, loosely secure them with retainer screws. If you have an all-wheel-drive vehicle, it's time to fit the rear driveline module. Afterwards, on both sides of the vehicle, insert the sway bar link upper stud into the end of the sway bar, attach each with a nut and hold the stud stationary while tightening the nut to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.). Then tighten the cushion retainer screws to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm) and bring the car down again.
