2009 Jeep Compass Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Washer Reservoir on 2009 Jeep Compass?
A: First, cut off and isolate the negative battery cable before removing the reservoir. After that, unscrew the fasteners holding the coolant container on the gasoline car or pressure tank on the diesel car to the inboard side of the washer reservoir and gently remove the container if needed. Pull out the washer fluid from the reservoir (1) and store it in a clean container for when it is needed again. Turn the washer pump/motor counterclockwise to get the connector (7) from the engine compartment harness and see how the washer hoses are attached before disconnecting them. Remove both washer hoses (3) from the two reservoir tubes at the top of the right front strut tower. The screw that keeps the differential pressure sensor bracket to the front strut tower may have to be removed for diesel engine vehicles to access the filler neck screw. Unscrew (2) the mounting tab at the rear of the filler neck from the bracket (4) on the front part of the right strut tower. If the washer has a headlamp leveling system, get off the car and pull the right headlamp unit forward until the front of the wash reservoir clears the motor below the lamp. Pull the washer reservoir upward to take off the post (5) below the reservoir from the hole (6) in the horizontal part of the right front wheel house.
