Install the left multi-function switch by first turning off the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) by removing the battery negative cable and waiting two minutes for the capacitor to drain. Adjust the left switch so it is touched by the mounting bracket and attach the middle jumper wire harness to the switch body's inboard receptacle. Make sure the slide tabs of the switch and the channels on the bracket are lined up and then slide the switch all the way into the bracket. Attach the mounting tab at the front of the left switch to the bracket using screw 2 and tighten it to 1 Nm (10 in. lbs.). Join the instrument panel wire harness connector to the receptacle at the back of the switch, place both shrouds on the steering column and connect the battery negative cable.
