To avoid injury when working on your combination switch, first cut power to the SRS by separating and isolating the negative cable connected to the battery and waiting two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge. Take off the top and bottom shrouds on the
Steering Column as your first step. Then, separate the wire harness connector that goes from the instrument panel from the left multi-function switch. Get rid of the screw that connects the left multi-function switch to its bracket on the left side of the
Clock Spring. Slide the switch in the opposite direction from the Clock Spring to make sure the slide tabs can come out of the channel formations on the mounting bracket. Next, disconnect the jumper wire harness connector from the inboard end of the left multi-function switch and lastly remove the switch from the Clock Spring.
