How to Maintain and Fix an Oxygen Sensor on 2009 Jeep Liberty?

Before starting to service or repair the oxygen sensor, let the engine sit until it is cool, because the exhaust manifold, pipes and catalytic converter can overheat as the engine runs. Make sure you raise and support the vehicle first. Pull the connector from the end without yanking on the wire going into the O2S sensor. You'll need to use an O2S removal and installation tool to take out the sensor which may be part 3 or 4. Next, use the correct tap to clean the threads in the exhaust pipe so that the sensor will fit properly.
