2009 Jeep Liberty Radiator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Ensure Optimal Performance and Prevent Overheating When Installing a Radiator on 2009 Jeep Liberty?
A: Secure the rubber air seals that join the radiator to the body and to the A/C condenser before installing anything else, because they help keep the engine from overheating. Gradually place the radiator and fan shroud into the engine compartment, directing the two dowels from the radiator into the rubber grommets beneath the lower radiator crossmember. Join the upper and lower hoses of the radiator and use the hose clamps to make sure the tangs are in a straight direction. Place both the radiator mounting bolts and secure the electric cooling fan connector back into the system. Put the grille in place and, if you have a viscous fan, replace it on the engine. Turn the blades by hand to see if anything is stuck around the shroud. For KA and KK cars, place in the new combination coolant recovery/washer fluid reservoir assembly. Hook up the reserve/overflow tank hose to the radiator, add the coolant and connect the cable going to the battery's negative terminal. After all that, start up the engine and look for leaks.
