2009 Jeep Wrangler Fuel Level Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Level Sensor on 2009 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before you service or repair the fuel level sensor, you need to remove the fuel pump module. Make sure to unplug the electrical connector from the fuel level sensor and remember not to handle the terminals or the resistor card, also do not pull on the unit using the wires. Push the sensor snap tab to the left with your finger at the same time as slowly lifting the bottom of the unit. Cover your body and eyes because you can get hurt by spilling fuel and since the fuel system stays under high pressure even when the engine is turned off, you should release all the fuel pressure before accessing it. Make sure you open windows or use fans for ventilation and don't smoke, work with flames or use sparks when you are performing the service to avoid any serious or fatal injury.
