2009 Jeep Wrangler Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove a Rear Wiper Motor on 2009 Jeep Wrangler?
A: First, remove and disconnect the negative battery cable before removing the wiper motor. After that, remove the rear wiper arm from the rear wiper motor output shaft. Take off the cover on the output shaft, then remove the nut that holds the output shaft to the glass of the lift. Following this, remove the plastic spacer and the rubber seal attached to the output shaft. Turn the swing gate in the open position and raise up the glass pane. Pull the rear wiper motor cover down using its edges to disconnect the three snap clip retainers that are keeping it connect to the bracket. Remove the 2 bolts holding the hardtop washer hose onto the rear wiper motor port and take off the hardtop wire harness connector from the rear wiper pigtail wire harness connector. You should know that you turn this special fastener clockwise to loosen and counterclockwise to tighten. With one hand on the rear wiper motor, get rid of the special fastener that holds the motor mounting bracket to the outside of the lift glass. Even with the wiper mounted, remove the nut that holds the wiper motor bracket to the lower portion of the left lift glass. At last, take out the motor and bracket unit located inside the lift glass.
