2010 Dodge Caliber Trailing Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Trailing Arm from the Rear Suspension on 2010 Dodge Caliber?
A: Start by lifting and supporting the vehicle before removing the trailing link. After that, undo the wheel mounting nuts and remove the combined tire and wheel assembly. Pop off the screw on the brake flex hose and unfasten the nut mounting the brake tube routing bracket to the trailing link. Take off the brake tube from the routing clip on the trailing link. Unbolt the caliper adapter from the brake support plate, then grab and take out the disc brake caliper and the whole adapter, not allowing the hose and tubing to overstretch. Should you have the set, remove the screw fixing the wheel speed sensor to the trailing link and the clip securing the sensor to the trailing link. Following this, change out the brake rotor, then remove the hub and bearing. Unlock the parking brake cable from the shoe lever by removing the hair pin holding it to the brake support plate. Slide the brake support plate with the brake shoes down the parking brake cable and remove it from the trailing link. First, release the bolt joining the toe link to the trailing link, then free the nut and bolt attaching the lower control arm to the trailing link and afterwards, remove the nut and bolt securing the upper control arm to the trailing link. After that, undo the fasteners from the lead end of the trailing link to the vehicle's body and lift the trailing link out.
