  • Q: How to change an Automatic Transmission Filter on 2010 Dodge Challenger?
    A: The transmission fluid and filter should be serviced after the engine and transmission have warmed up to normal working temperature. After that, lift and support the vehicle. Disconnect the oil pan from the transmission by loosening the five bolts and four retainers, then remove the pan and the gasket on top of it. Following that, remove the oil filter and seal from the electrohydraulic control unit. Clean the inside of the oil pan and check the gasket, so you can replace it if needed. change the oil filter and o-ring in the electrohydraulic control unit, reconnect the oil pan and gasket to the transmission. Set all the bolts to hand snug in the oil pan, followed by torquing them to 8 Nm (70 in.lbs.). After the vehicle is lowered, pour in 5.0 L (10.6 pts.) of transmission fluid into the transmission and inspect the oil level.
