2010 Dodge Challenger Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Power Steering Pump on 2010 Dodge Challenger?
A: When working on a manual transmission car, unhook and separate the negative battery cable first. The next step is to lift off the engine cover, remove the attachment between the intake air temperature sensor and the computer, yank off the registration clamps on the throttle body and air filter assembly and take off the clean air tube. Take off the make up air hose and the bolt that holds the air filter assembly, then remove the whole assembly from your vehicle. Avoid letting the tensioner arm fall back to the free arm position, since it can hurt the engine; turn the tensioner wheel counterclockwise until stopped and then pull off the accessory drive belt and slowly let go of the tensioner so it lands in the free arm position. Open the port on the power steering pump reservoir to drain the power steering fluid, put off the clamp on the hose leading from the pump and take out the bolt attaching the pressure hose to the pump. After that, loosen the three power steering pump mounting bolts and take the pump out of the engine.
