2010 Dodge Challenger Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a Front Shock Absorber on 2010 Dodge Challenger?
A: Put the whole shock assembly through the front suspension, one part at a time, taking it back out in the same order. Be sure to tighten the nut enough so that the ball stud joint does not get damaged. First, push the upper ball joint stud through the hole in the top of the knuckle and tighten the nut afterwards. Firmly hold the ball joint stud with a hex wrench and have a wrench tighten the nut to 47 Nm plus 90° of it. After that, link the wheel speed sensor cable routing clip with the brake tube bracket. Put on the lower shock mounting bolt, but do not tighten it for now. Slide the stabilizer link ball joint into the back of the shock and fit and tighten a nut to join the link to the shock assembly, until it reaches a torque of 128 Nm. Subsequently, mount the tire and wheel, lower the car and install the three nuts holding the shock assembly to the shock tower, turning them up to 27 Nm. If needed, ensure the shock tower cap matches the shock mounting nuts and then snap it onto its arms.
