2010 Jeep Liberty Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Right Side Shock Absorber on 2010 Jeep Liberty?
A: If the right shock absormer has been serviced and repaired, make sure to install the spring before anything else. Then, place the shock assembly (1) onto the vehicle and hold it in place with the four upper shock mounting nuts, tightening them to 108 Nm (80 ft.lbs.). Slide the third knuckle up and clip back the upper ball joint nut, ensuring it is tightened to at least 41 Newton meters (30 foot-pounds) and add another 90 quarter turns. Screw on the clevis bracket bolt (4) to the lower control arm and tighten it to 150 Nm (110 ft.lbs.) while the vehicle is fully loaded. After the caliper, proceed to screw in the lower stabilizer link bolt (2) at the lower control arm, tighten it by 102 Nm (75 ft.lbs.) with weight in the vehicle. Place the right tires and wheels on your car, then lower the vehicle. The last step is to install the airbox.
