2010 Jeep Liberty Water Pump Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Water Pump on 3.7L Engines on 2010 Jeep Liberty?
A: As the first step, remove the pump and replace it by cleaning where the gasket meets the parts. With the new gasket in place, set the water pump and put in the mounting bolts, tightening them to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Be sure the impeller does not touch or rub against the timing chain case/cover when the pump is spinning freely. Link the lower radiator hose to the water pump and fit the accessory drive belt in place. Connect the fan shroud's upper part with the fan blade or viscous fan drive, so that all the air can flow smoothly through the radiator from top to bottom. Make sure to install the two fan shroud-to-radiator screws and check that the tips of the fan blades are at least 25 mm (1.0 inches) away from the fan shroud. Air out the cooling system, add replacement fluid and then link the negative battery cable. Check if there are any leaks in your car's cooling system.
