Begin by fitting the ball socket on the upper bracket of the deck lid hinge 1 onto the cylinder end of the support cylinder 2. Squeeze the ball bearing socket down onto the ball stud to make the retainer clip click into place. Then, put the ball socket from the rod end of the support cylinder onto the ball stud on the lower bracket of the deck lid hinge. Once more, pinch the ball socket onto the ball stud and the retainer clip will snap into place. After installing the ball socket on both of the support cylinders, confirm that the retaining clip on each end is fully inserted. Ultimately, lift off the truck's service prop or block and shut the deck lid.
