  Before disconnecting the A/C accumulator on the front, take all the Safety warnings seriously, empty the necessary storage compartments, then cut the power to high voltage components before ever starting service or repairs. You should always follow all warnings and cautions related to this system. Be mindful that Polyalkylene Glycol (PAG) oil may contaminate an HEV's refrigerant system, so if the recovery/recycling and charging equipment was last used on another kind of vehicle, flush the hoses with a solvent approved by the manufacturer or choose equipment made for HEVs. Before working on HEV models, turn off the battery by pressing the service disconnect on the battery pack. In gasoline-only engine vehicles, take the negative battery cable and cut it from the electrical system. After that, take out the front and rear lines (1 and 4) from the accumulator (2). Next, remove the bolt (3) that connects the accumulator and bracket to the right front frame rail (5) and put the whole thing aside.

  Before putting on the front A/C accumulator, check that the refrigeration oil is at the right level to prevent issues and damages to your A/C system's compressor. A damaged accumulator inside the car can cause more problems, so it should be replaced if the A/C compressor fails. You should only use the ND-11 Polyester (POE) oil from Mopar in HEV models, since using Polyalkylene Glycol (PAG) oil may damage the vehicle's refrigerant system. If the machinery formerly worked on a non-HEV unit, you should flush the hoses with an acceptable solvent or change to equipment intended for HEVs. For situations where several A/C components are replaced, look at the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to decide on the right amount of oil and if just the accumulator is being replaced, add 1 fluid ounce (about 30 milliliters). Be sure to change O-ring seals and gaskets when you remove refrigerant lines to stop any chances of leaks. Bolt the accumulator and bracket into the engine compartment and secure them to the right front frame rail with a bolt tightened to 9 Nm or 80 in. lbs. Then connect the front and rear areas of the liquid line. For electric trucks, turn on the battery by attaching the battery pack service disconnect or with gasoline trucks, attach the negative battery cable. Remove the refrigerant, add the correct level of refrigerant oil and then fill the refrigerant system as directed.
