Chrysler Aspen Vacuum Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Vacuum Pump on Chrysler Aspen?
    A:
To start, pass a lower bolt through the bundle of wires/tube on the air conditioner, then place the bolt in the bottom spot on the electric pump bracket. At this point, install the bolts but do not tighten them. After that, install the upper bolt and nut, ensuring you tighten them to 40 Nm. Afterward, tighten the lower bolts to a value of 20 Nm. Put the battery cable junction block so that its tab is lined up with the hole and tighten its retainer bolt finger tight until the battery cables and top and bottom crimps are the same positions they were in for removal. Slide the red cables of your battery over the studs and insert the nut, tightening it to 10 Nm. Fasten the access cover for the positive battery cable, join the electrical connector to the vacuum pump and put the vacuum hose on the vacuum pump. Last, insert the 12 volt battery system ground isolation connector and return it to its bracket, then reset the Vacuum Pump Wear Out Counter in the Antilock Brake Module using a scan tool under Miscellaneous Tests.
