Chrysler Cirrus ABS Control Module is the main ingredient in the entire anti-lock brake system of Chrysler Cirrus well-known to deliver remarkable service across the models. The role of this module is significant in the aspect of improving the safety features of vehicles by avoiding the lock-up of wheels on account of intensive braking and thus avoiding skidding. The Chrysler Cirrus ABS Control Module monitors the wheel speed and can sense lock conditions and operates through valves and pump to properly control the brake pressure based on the tricky driving situation. Chrysler has subsequently released updates to the Cirrus ABS Control Module such as the ESC and traction control that addresses the direction correction on wet-surf significance and control of brake force during acceleration. These elements also improve the driving experience and largely impact the car's performance and safety. This paper demonstrates how a mid-sized sedan, the Chrysler Cirrus, which has been in the market since 1995, is favored by having an ABS Control Module with embedded technology. This car has always been recognized for its excellent price-performance ratio, and the Cirrus does not deviate from this tradition of the Chrysler brand Still, the Central ABS Control Module is clear proof of Chrysler's desire to integrate new technologies into its vehicles while keeping an eye on the safety of its future clientele. The availability of this module for different Cirrus models extends the driving experience of the Chrysler Cirrus owners and thus, forms an integral part of the vehicle's braking system.

Chrysler Cirrus ABS Control Module Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace the ABS Control Module on Chrysler Cirrus?
    A:
Before removing either the HCU or CAB, take out the ICU from the vehicle because they are separate units within the ICU. First, cut off the pump/motor wiring harness from the CAB, then remove the 4 bolts securing the CAB to the HCU and pull off the CAB from the CAB unit. On installation, mount the CAB on the HCU using the 4 bolts and add a torque of 2 Nm (17 inch lbs.). Attach the pump/motor's wiring harness onto the CAB and put the ICU back in the car and then move on to bleeding the base and ABS hydraulic systems. It's important to test-drive the vehicle after passing the basic braking test.
  • Q: How to Service the ABS Control Module for Antilock Brakes on Chrysler Cirrus?
    A:
Start the process by pulling the remote ground cable off the left strut tower bolt and cover the exposed end with a ground cable insulator. Push the brake pedal past the first inch by using the brake positioning tool in order to separate the master cylinder reservoir. Set the vehicle up so you can see under it and then take off the splash shield from the engine compartment's right side using a hoist. Unhook all wiring connectors on the oxygen sensor harnesses, take off the ground strap between the body and muffler, detach the pipe from the Exhaust Manifold and lower the whole exhaust unit away from the car. After that, pull the heat shield off the HCU mounting bracket and clean the entire HCU and brake tube connection with Mopar Brake Parts Cleaner. Take the 4 chassis brake tubes off the red outlet ports on the HCU and the primary and secondary brake hoses away from the blue inlet ports. Detach the bolts connecting the HCU mounting bracket to the front suspension crossmember and unplug the CAB's 25-way wiring harness. Remove the ICU from the bracket that holds it in place and remove the entire ICU module from the car. Unpack the box, remove all the mountings from the vehicle, attach the HCU using specs of 11 Nm and the bracket legs needing 28 Nm torque. Align the brake tubes again, connecting both sets of brake pipes to the chassis tubes and tighten every brake tube nut to 17 Nm. Fix the exhaust system, HCU heat shield and get set to put on the splash shield next. Set the vehicle back down, take out the brake holding tool, attach the remote ground cable and attach it with your hands. In the end, run the fluid through the base hydraulics and ABS system and then check the brakes on the road to ensure they function as expected.
