- Q: How to Safely Remove and Replace a Deployed Air Bag Module on Chrysler Concorde?A:Always remember to cover your hands, eyes and arms when taking out a Driver air bag Module, since the surface may have distressing substances. Open the hood and remove the negative Battery Cable remote terminal from the remote battery post at the start. After that, remove the screws from the speed control switch under the steering wheel, remove the switches and disconnect the wiring. Gently remove the two bolts that support the Driver air bag Module, lift it up and then unplug the air bag and horn wire links as you remove the module. It is necessary to change the Clock Spring when swapping out a deployed Driver air bag Module using the right steps. To install, put the Clock Spring, horn and air bag wiring connectors on the module, making sure to press straight in on the air bag connector to secure it and be sure not to pinch the air bag wires as you slide in the CPA tab. Unhook the negative Battery Cable, remove the passenger air bag, then place it into the panel where you can, using tape to hold the ripped instrument panel pad on the deployed air bag. Lift out the instrument panel and pad assembly and then take off the Passenger air bag Module. Install new undamaged parts from the instrument panel onto the vehicle, tightening each screw to 20 in.lbs. To install the Passenger air bag Module, use the removal steps in reverse and to install the instrument panel, use the steps mentioned in reverse. For your safety, do not attach the battery negative cable to the remote terminal.
