How to Service and Repair a Flywheel on Chrysler Crossfire?

Before fixing the flex plate or flywheel, take out the transmission and starter. To stop the flywheel, insert a Special Tool 9102 Flywheel Locking Tool in the starter opening. Should the vehicle have a clutch, remove it and then get rid of the flywheel bolts. After that, unmount the spacer and the flywheel/flexplate. Make sure the oil seal around the rear crankshaft does not leak; replace it if it is damaged. Lots should only be installed using new flywheel/flexplate bolts. After aligning the flywheel/flexplate pin with the crankshaft, put the spacer in place and tighten the new bolts sequentially to 33 ft. lb. Additional 90° of rotation on the bolts, along with adding a clutch if present, removing the locking tool and inserting the starter and transmission ends the job.
