Chrysler LHS Sway Bar Bushing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service Sway Bar Bushings on Chrysler LHS?
    A:
To fix the sway bar isolator bushings, set the vehicle on jack stands or a frame contact type hoist. Detach the 2 retaining bolts from each of the 2 sway bar bushing assemblies attached to the cradle and remove the isolator bushing retainers from the isolator bushings. If any retainers or bushings are damaged, you should get new ones; open the bushing and take it out and put the new one in with the slit facing the front of the vehicle. During installation, apply slits on the bushings forwards and flat inside, followed by re-adding the bushing isolator retainers to the bar isolator bushings. It is important that the lower end of the sway bar is set in the middle of the cradle, to keep it clear of other suspension components. Put the sway bar bushing retainers into the cradle assembly, making sure their holes match, then bolts down the 4 retainers to the cradle (2 for each sway bar bushing retainer) to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Bring the vehicle down to the ground when you are finished.
