Perhaps there is no part that stresses more on the capabilities of the Chrysler LHS, a luxury sedan from Chrysler, than the Chrysler LHS Water Pump. Commonly known as the Nature Power Water Pump, it is intended to effectively pump water in the water jacket of the engine, thereby controlling temperatures of the engine through circulation of the heat to the radiator for dispersion of the heat to the atmosphere. This functionality is critical towards improving the productivity as well as safety in that the Chrysler LHS will perform optimally under different operational conditions. Suitable for LHS models manufactured between 1994 and 2001, this Water Pump is highly durable with applications of an aluminum cast body and design and a rotating shaft with an impeller that enhances fluid circulation. However, there are street and racing versions of the Water Pump - performance-oriented, which drastically raise the flow of coolant. Continuation of the electrical water pumps in the modern designs also improve the efficiency by eliminating the parasitic loss of mechanical pumps and possibility of the separate coolant circulation depending on the engine temperature. It is not only helps to increase the performance of the vehicle and coincide with the aim and objective of this research, but also provides guidelines to improve the life cycle of Chrysler LHS. In the automotive market, there is nothing like Chrysler LHS Water Pump that has created high end reputation when it comes to reliability and thus making LHS continue to remain relevant to the market of luxury sedan. These and other qualities, as well as its reliable functioning, strengthen its role within the framework of the LHS model range's design and become one of the prerequisites for the car's existence.

Chrysler LHS Water Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace a Water Pump on Chrysler LHS?
    A:
Drain all the coolant and pull the Drive Belts belonging to the cooling system, keeping in mind that the water pump runs on the Timing Belt. After that, take out the timing belt and remove all the bolts holding the water pump, ensuring you remember which bolt is the longest. Take out the water pump housing from the engine. Look for signs of damage or cracks on the water pump, leaked coolant on or close to the water pump, the impeller rubbing against the timing belt cover and untight or noticeably rough bearings. Occasional coolant from the weep hole is normal; a thick buildup or continuous flow, though, indicates the seal on the shaft is defective and a replacement is needed. Dirty the outside of the pump and cover with O-ring, grease the O-ring with Mopar Dielectric Grease or equivalent and put a new O-ring on the water pump for installation. Take the water pump to the engine, fit the bolts in place and tighten them to a force of 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Also, install the timing belt, all the accessory belts and complete the job by checking the cooling system.
