Before working on the muffler, make certain the exhaust system is cool; its temperature stays very high near the catalytic converter. Start the process by supporting the vehicle. On convertibles, remove the back support bracket under the flange and support the back part of the exhaust system. With everything removed from the manifold, pull off the bolts from the center connection flange, cut the ground link near the muffler and unhook the pipe from the exhaust clamp. Ease the rubber hangers off the bracket, then pull out the muffler and pipe from your car. For SRT models, begin the same way by unbolting only the right and left center connection flange. Line up the muffler's section in the rubber exhaust hangers, fasten the central bolts on the exhaust flange to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.), then attach the ground strap between the muffler and tail pipe and screw the bolt on the ground strap firmly enough. As soon as the support is gone, lower the car and put the rear support bracket back on, if it's part of the system. Install the SRT models in the same way, checking that everything is well connected.
