In all circumstances, the maintenance book provides the suggested times to change fluids and filters for the transaxle. Use just leopard ATF+4 fluids and clean the
Oil Pan's magnet with a dry, clean cloth during filter changes during an oil change for the transmission. If you remove the transaxle, empty and refill the fluid, as well as change the filter. Set the vehicle up on the hoist, put some drain containers below the oil pan of the transaxle. Unbolt the two
Engine Mount crossmember cradle nuts, set a screw jack under the front crossmember cradle and adjust the jack by sliding a wood block under the oil pan to raise it slightly. Relax the bolts, press on one corner to make it detach and remove the oil pan to get draining. Replace the filter and O-ring at the bottom of the valve body, clean both the pan and magnet and bolt the pan back in using new Mopar® Silicone Adhesive sealant and 19 Nm (165 inch lbs. of torque). Pour your four quarts of Mopers ATF+4 through the dipstick opening, start the car and let it run for a full minute. After parking and braking, brief touch the selector lever to every position before you place it in park or neutral. Look at the transaxle fluid level and top off with fluid to bring it 3 mm (1/8 inch) below the lowest level on the dipstick, then check again after the transaxle has cooled to 180°F. Close the dipstick fully so it cannot be open when applying pressure. To use this method, start by bringing the transaxle to full operating temperature, use an appropriate suction device, insert it into the dipstick tube, pushing down toward the bottom of the oil pan. After getting rid of the fluid, withdraw the suction line and pour in four quarts of Mopers ATF+4 at the dipstick hole, crank the engine and repeat the earlier process to check and top off the fluid as needed.
