The front brake caliper service and repair should begin with the vehicle raised and its center cap removed by prying it up with a trim stick. After that, drop the wheel and tire and unscrew the 2 bolts holding the caliper to the adapter. Loosen the caliper by turning the end of the disc away from the caliper adapter and lifting it up off the machined abutment. Keep the caliper loaded by dangling it from the upper control arm with a plastic tie, so the flex hose is safe from any added weight. If your wheels have rotor retainers, get rid of them before you remove the rotor and then only lift it off of the hub/bearing. After that, remove the 4 bolts connecting the hub/bearing and caliper adapter to the
Steering Knuckle and pull out both hub/bearing and caliper adapter. To start the installation, insert the 4 hub/bearing bolts into the steering knuckle; install the caliper adapter on these same bolts and finally, reinsert the hub/bearing. Ensure the 4 bolts between the caliper adapter, hub/bearing and steering knuckle are tightened to 61 Nm (46 ft. lbs.). Next, fitted the brake rotor onto the hub/bearing, then put the disc brake caliper back onto the caliper adapter, following the same steps you just removed it with. Put the brake caliper bolts through the holes and fasten them by tightening them no more than 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Place the wheel and tire back on, tightening the bolts in correct order until you have only tight snug, then repeat the order to reach the exact torque setting. After that, fasten the center cap over the tire and slowly lower the car.
