Chrysler Prowler Camshaft is one of the core components that highly contribute to improving the quality of Chrysler Prowler cars. Famous for its high-level accuracy in time, the camshaft controls the opening and closing time of intake and exhaust valves for proper air and fuel mixture. Camshaft types in the Chrysler Prowler series include OHV, SOHC and DOHC for the prime output and response of engine performance. The performance type of camshaft gives a higher lift and duration, thus creating more power when at high rates of speed, converting the Chrysler Prowler to a truly dynamic roadster. Also, as far as technical parameters of the camshaft are concerned, Lobe Separation Angle (LSA) contributes to an improvement in the torque and idle quality and makes the Chrysler Prowler reputed for its working capacity. This camshaft is compatible with several models of Prowler so that the kinky vipers can harmonize the marvels of efficiency and safety in every type of this car. Clearly, Chrysler Prowler Camshaft is unique in the automotive market, as it is heavily built from quality materials that result to the part's durability and reliability when it is needed in a vehicle. In general, the Chrysler Prowler Camshaft is incredibly important for enabling better innate engine control, and therefore is a rather defining characteristic which improves the experience while at the same time preserving the safety and functionality that Chrysler is legendary for.

Chrysler Prowler Camshaft Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Remove and Install a Camshaft on Chrysler Prowler?
    A:
To take out the camshaft, start by removing the camshaft sprocket and finishing by removing the cylinder head. Speckle the Rocker Arm and shaft assembly with a marker prior to removing it. Once the rear camshaft is removed, carefully extract the rear camshaft cover and its O-ring from the head so you don't harm the engine's journals. Remove dirt and grime from the camshaft by using the proper industrial solvent. Check the belly of all camshaft bearings to see if they are damaged or binding and if they are, look for damage inside the cylinder head and verify the oil holes are not blocked. Check the cam lobe and the camshaft bearing surfaces for signs of damage and replace the shaft if found. Should the camshaft be replaced as a result of lobe wear or damage, the rocker arms should be replaced too. Check the lobe wearing by checking 0.0254 mm (0.001 inch) as standard and no more than 0.254 mm (0.010 inch); replace the camshaft if the limit is crossed. Pour engine oil onto the camshaft bearing journals as well as the lobes, then carefully put the camshaft into its slot in the cylinder head after lubrication. Next, put the cylinder head(s) in place, mount the rocker arm assembly next and finish by placing the camshaft sprockets and Timing Belt.
