  The first step to servicing or repairing the EGR valve is to shut off the negative Battery Cable and remove the air intake duct. Following this, remove the clips that mount the EGR Tube onto the intake manifold plenum and afterward take out the plenum. Take the EGR tube off by unscrewing the mounting screws on the EGR valve, after making sure none of the silicone rubber seals fall down the intake manifold. Wash away any debris from the gasket surfaces, as loose bits may result in leaks that lower the engine's idle speed and the air pressure in the manifold.
