The Chrysler Prowler Catalytic Converter is part of the exhaust and emissions techniques in Chrysler Prowler brand automobiles, which are widely recognized as performance-oriented cars. This high performance advanced catalytic converter is designed to reduce those toxic gases, emissions which are generated during the combustion process, for instance carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and oxides of nitrogen into less toxic products of combustion like water and carbon dioxide. The Chrysler Prowler models come with monolithic honeycomb substrate design whereby the exhaust gases are in contact with the catalyst for long, guaranteeing the oxidation and reduction processes. This design I must admit contributes to the general efficiency of the vehicle in question and also greatly contributes to what can optimal be described as environmental concerns hence safety while on the road. Currently, Chrysler Prowler Catalytic Converter can support various kinds of Prowler, to make sure each vehicle can perform pretty well. Specifically, for higher flow there are performance-oriented options which also allow for providing the engine with all the required catalytic activity. Thus, the Chrysler Prowler Catalytic Converter's attributes necessary for direct fit installation options single out this automobile from the automotive market. Chrysler Prowler Catalytic Converter seems to be the crucial component, which decreases the emission and enhances the performance of the engine, therefore, this component has to be considered as one of the essential parts of the Chrysler Prowler, which defines strength and efficiency of the car.

Chrysler Prowler Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Catalytic Converter on Chrysler Prowler?
    A:
Take the negative Battery Cable off and lift up the car on a hoist to service the catalytic converter. Disconnect the electrical plug from the Oxygen Sensor below and take out the oxygen sensor. Place a jack stand below the exhaust system, then take off the isolators from the supports of the exhaust pipes. Put some oil on the band that joins the converter muffler with the catalytic pipes and lift them apart. Make sure not to use the clamp from the manifold to the converter again and loosen the V-Band clamp here. Take out the bolt joining the converter pipe hanger to the rear engine support bracket and then detach the catalytic converters, throwing away the V-Band clamp. Always cool the exhaust system before inspecting the catalytic converter, since it runs at a very high temperature. Inspect for obstructions in the flow and, if you have access, use a borescope to check the catalytic converter; in its absence, take out the converter and use a strong flashlight to check for problems with the substrate. Before changing the catalytic converter, look for the cause of its failure and most often it will turn out to be air, fuel or ignition trouble. Before using the V-Band clamps, pass them over the coupling flange with the nut facing downward; fix the catalytic converter onto the manifold and then install each V-Band clamp over the flanges, tightening them with 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.) of torque. After you have put the catalytic converter pipe hanger back into place on the rear engine support bracket, be sure to torque the bolt to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) and attach the entire exhaust system, remembering to tighten the band clamps to the same torque. Then, put in the downstream oxygen sensor and tighten it to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.), connect the cable to the sensor as it was taken out, lower the car and reattach the negative battery cable.
