Chrysler Prowler Vapor Canister Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Vapor Canister on Chrysler Prowler?
    A:
Start the process of servicing and repairing the Evaporative Emission Control Canister by hoisting the vehicle and taking off the right rear tire. After that, release the vacuum line from the Leak Detection Pump and take off the three nuts holding the EVAP canister bracket in place. Unplug the electrical cable from the Leak Detection Pump and take out the hoses from above the EVAP canister. Take off the four nuts from the EVAP canister and remove the canister from the bracket next. Attach the canister to the bracket, tighten the nuts with 9 Nm (79.6 in. lbs.) and your installation is complete. Hook the hoses back to the canister, attach the electrical connector to the Leak Detection Pump and link the vacuum line to the Leak Detection Pump as well. Screw the canister to the frame rail using nuts set to 15.5 Nm (12 ft. lbs.), add the tire and secure the nuts and finally bring the vehicle down.
