Chrysler Prowler Sway Bar Link Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Sway Bar Link on Chrysler Prowler?
    A:
Start the sway bar link service by taking the grille off the front of the car. After that, unscrew the nuts that associate the sway bar links with the Rocker Arms by slightly jacking up or down the vehicle if the bolts are strained. Disconnect both bolts holding the link between the sway bar and the rocker arm. Lift the vehicle and squeeze the sway bar arms to free the lock nuts holding the link. Hold the link stud steady with a Torx Plus 40 IP Bit as you take off the wrenchnut. As soon as the nut is off, take out the sway bar link from the sway bar. Start by placing the lower end of the sway bar link on the sway bar, so its stud is facing away from it and then put the nut on the stud with the Torx Plus 40 IP Bit while holding it in place. Close the nut up with a torque of 122 Nm (90 ft. lbs.) when using a crowfoot wrench. Move the sway bar arms upwards, place the links over the rocker arm holes and lower the car until the front tires are carrying the weight. Place the sway bar link bolts inside the holes in the rocker arm and insert nuts onto each bolt. With a flex socket and an extension, turn the sway bar link bolts to 60 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Lastly, get the grille ready in place and use a hand-powered drill to tighten the four screws that secure the grille to the front structure.
