First, take off the air cleaner lid, separate the inlet air temperature sensor and its hose and finally disconnect the negative
Battery Cable. Remove the engine cover or throttle control shield if your machine has them. After that, pull the
Throttle Cable from the throttle body lever, lift the tabs holding the cable in place and remove it from the bracket. Should speed control be included, take off the speed control cable by sliding it out from the hole in the throttle lever. Pull the EVAP purge hose away from the throttle body nipple and then take off the electrical connectors from the
Throttle Position Sensor and idle air control motor. Separate the two screws that hold the cable mounting bracket and support bracket and then the bolts that hold the throttle body. Raise the throttle body straight upward to release it. While installing, fit the electrical connectors onto the idle air control motor and throttle position sensor and be sure to have the throttle body gasket fitted in the manifold. Install the throttle body on the intake and put the mounting bolts in place, but don't tighten them at this moment. Fix the throttle cable bracket into place and do not tighten the bolts just yet. First, tighten the throttle body bolts between 11.75 ± 2.25 Nm (105 ± 20 in. lbs.) and then repeat the same tightening for the throttle cable bracket bolts. Screw the EVAP purge hose onto the throttle body nipple, secure the housing retainer tabs by snapping them into the bracket and turn the throttle lever forward to lengthen the throttle body cables. Put in the throttle control shield, connect the negative battery cable and return the air cleaner lid with the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose.
