How to Safely Remove and Replace an Airbag in a Car Seat on Chrysler Town & Country?

Before changing or removing a seat air bag, you first need to turn off the SRS by cutting the power from the car's negative battery cable and then waiting for two minutes for the SRS capacitor to drain its electrical charge. Cover your hands, eyes and arms to protect yourself from anything that may cause irritation on the air bag part you are handling. To reach the mounts more easily, recline the front seat all the way forward and then take it out of the vehicle. When removing the seat back trim cover, ensure that you do not damage the nylon air bag pouch built into the seat, because any damage will necessitate changing the entire front seat back cover. Get rid of the trim from the front and back of the driver's seat back frame, except keep the outboard side attached until the air bag is taken out. Be careful not to tug on the seat air bag wire harness or push on the connector insulator too hard, since both can cause harm. Disconnecting the seat air bag jumper wire harness from the inflator works like this: First pull the yellow locking tab down, then squeeze the latch tabs and pull straight out.
