  To install the non-adjustable brake pedal assembly, first, if needed, install the electronic throttle control onto the pedals assembly using three mounting screws. Following this, slide the adjustable pedals assembly under the instrument panel and onto the power brake booster and dash-mounted studs. Fasten the assembly by installing four power brake booster mounting nuts and tightening them to 28 N.m (21 ft-lbs). Then install and tighten the nuts on the dash-mounted studs to the same torque specification. Fit the booster push rod on to the brake pedal pin and secure it with a new retaining clip Position the wiring harness over the pedals assembly and install routing straps (1); connect the wiring connector at the electronic throttle control (accelerator). Install a new stop lamp switch into the pedal bracket, adjust the operation of the adjustable pedals and carry out a road test to test the operation of the brakes and accelerator brake.

  How to remove and repair the Brake Pedal assembly on Chrysler Town & Country?

  To service and repair the brake pedal assembly of a manual transaxle, unclipped the air cleaner cover and move it aside. First, disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. Next, pull off the silencer pad underneath the knee blocker and fold the knee blocker down. Rotate the brake lamp switch approximately 30 degrees in the counterclockwise direction and pull it rearward from its mounting bracket. Discard the old switch. Next step is to remove the clip that secures the power brake booster input rod to the brake pedal, and remove the input rod. Firstly, the nut of the pivot shaft must be removed and the pivot shaft is to be pulled outward from the left side of the bracket until the brake pedal can be removed, stopping short of removing the shaft from the clutch pedal. Take the brake pedal out of its bracket and out of the vehicle. Slide out the bushings from each side of the brake pedal. To install, use Mopar Lubriplate or equivalent to lubricate the new brake pedal bushings and, if removed, slide one bushing into each side of the pedal pivot until the shoulder contacts the pivot. Install the brake pedal and bushings in the mounting bracket so that the brake pedal is behind the brake lamp switch mounting flange. Once the pedal is properly aligned, install the pivot shaft through the pedal from the left side and attach with the pivot shaft nut, tightened to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.). Connect the input rod of the power brake booster to the brake pedal pin and install a new retaining clip. Words: 39 Use a new brake lamp switch. Switch must be adjusted on fitting. Mount the switch into its bracket. Ensure index tab aligns with slot. Rotate switch clockwise to lock. Move the lever of the switch to the fully vertical position under the condition of fully releasing the brake pedal. Finally, reinstall the knee blocker and silencer pad, reconnect the battery-negative terminal and fix the air cleaner cover. Make sure the stop lamps are functional. Road test to check proper operation of brake controls and speed control if applicable.
