The job begins by adding the cam sprockets, putting the new attaching bolts in and not tightening them yet. Ensure the
Camshaft sprocket and the marks shown on the cover for that sprocket are level with one another. After that, put in the correct camshaft thrust plate and seal, tightening the bolts until they reach 28 Nm. Start by installing the timing belt at the crankshaft sprocket and make it wrap counterclockwise around the rest of the components while it remains tight across the tensioner pulley and the camshaft sprocket marks still fit with the marks on the rear cover. Clamp the tensioner pulley against the belt, then put the reset
Timing Belt Tensioner into the timing housing and tighten the bolts to 28 Nm. Take out the tensioner retaining pin so the tensioner can bind to the pulley bracket. Find TDC for the number 1
Piston with the help of a dial indicator. Put a 36 mm wrench on the camshaft sprocket hex and tighten the bolts to 102 Nm with an extra 90° turn for both sides. When the dial indicator is removed, fit the spark plug, get Special Tool 6642 out and fit the cam retainer/thrust plates with their O-rings. Then, as the last step, fit the front timing belt cover in place.
