Before removing the engine timing cover, isolate the negative battery cable and drain out the cooling system. Lift the car on a motor hoist and then remove all the oil from its engine. Take out the right front tire and wheel assembly and then remove the inner splash shield located there. Following that, remove the
Oil Pan and the oil pick-up tube. Remove the accessory
Drive Belt and then remove one bolt and three nuts to adjust the A/C compressor. Disconnect the vibration damper for the crankshaft and take off the heater return hose from its place on the timing chain case or
Water Pump inlet tube if your engine has an oil cooler. Take out the lower radiator hose and the
Camshaft Position Sensor from the timing chain cover. Remove the
Engine Mount on the right side and loosen the bolt from the power steering line support bracket. Take off two bolts, a nut and then another bracket, plus yet another bolt and nut. Rearrange the generator by taking out the generator's bolts, then take out three mounting bolts from below the pump pulley to move the
Power Steering Pump. After removing the bolt and tensioner, remove both the bolt and the idler pulley on the accessory drive belt. With the water pump removed, get rid of the timing chain cover fasteners and then remove the timing chain cover.
