- Q: How to Service and Repair a Camshaft Seal on Chrysler Town & Country?A:You should start by unhooking the negative battery cable to work on the Camshaft oil seal. For the proper cylinder head, first take out the cover from the front Timing Belt side and line up the marks from both gears. Once that's done, you need to take out the timing belt and right camshaft sprocket and then the camshaft thrust plate at the rear of the cylinder head. After that, remove the cover from the cylinder head and remove the Rocker Arm assembly. Work the camshaft about 3.5 inches backward and carefully remove it from the cylinder head without touching the seal or journal surfaces on the camshaft or cylinder head. In the end, select the right type of driver to slowly take out the camshaft oil seal. Unattach the negative battery cable and free the coolant from the left cylinder head. Uncover the front timing gear, bring both timing marks together at TDC and then uncover the back timing gear and cylinder head cover. Afterward, pull out the rocker arm assembly and the camshaft thrust plate from the back of the cylinder head. Repeat the adjustment by pulling the camshaft and its support out of the cylinder head by an extra 3.5 inches. Be careful not to damage the part that holds the seal or the journal of the camshaft. Use the proper driver to carefully take out the camshaft oil seal.

After that, install the Rocker Arm assembly, cylinder head cover, front timing belt cover and vibration damper. After that, finish by adding coolant and linking the negative battery cable.
