First, check the O-ring seals of each fuel injector and change any ruined seals. Apply a light amount of clean engine oil to every O-ring. If fuel injectors are being changed out one at a time, restore the other injectors to the places where they were when you started taking them out. Attach the retaining clips to the fuel injectors before installing them properly into the fuel rail. Apply just a little engine oil on the O-ring at the nozzle end of each injector, insert them into the openings in the cylinder heads and sit them in place. Compress the fuel rail and screw in the bolts to 28 Nm (20.5 ft. lbs.). Attach the fuel line quick connector to the harness, then connect the injectors to their electrical connectors so that the fuel hose is secure. Seat the quick connect fuel line (1) onto the fuel rail (2) and then bolt the upper intake manifold into place. Attach the last cable to the negative battery post and fasten it firmly to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). While the fuel system is pressurized with the scan tool, examine the system again for leaks.
