  Q: How to Install a Sway Bar Link on Chrysler Town & Country?

  At first, screw the stud onto the end of the sway bar while it is inserted into the mounting hole. Lock the lower mounting stud in place by putting a wrench on its flat machined area while you tighten the nut. Take the lower sway bar link stud, insert the nut and tighten it to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.). After that, push the upper mounting stud through the bracket on the strut and hold it in place with an open-end wrench so it never rotates. Thread the nut on the stud above the sway bar, hand tighten it firmly to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.) and keep holding the wrench. Securing the sway bar link, place the tire and wheel assembly on the car and tighten the wheel mounting nuts in the sectioned sequence, going from 67.5 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). After that, lower the vehicle to prepare for launching.

  The sway bar link must be serviced first by raising and supporting the vehicle and only then can you take out the wheel and tire assembly. To hold the upper stud as you remove the nut, put an open-end wrench on the machined flat at the end of the stud. Put an open-end wrench onto the flat machined area of the link's stud and turn the nut counterclockwise, then pull the link stud out of the bracket by pushing it. An open-end wrench can be used to hold the stud in place when you remove the nut at the lower stud. Take out the sway bar links at each end in exactly the same way as you did with the driver's side. During installation, pass the link attaching stud through the end hole of the sway bar, rotating the stud by hand as you thread the nut and tighten it with the wrench to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.). After that, insert the sway bar link upper mounting stud into the bracket on the strut. Slowly tighten the nut on the stud under light pressure with an Allen key until it reaches 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.). Lastly, place the wheel and tire assembly back on, ensuring the nuts are put on in the proper order by half of the required torque, check this with a torque wrench and then go over them again with the correct torque between 100 and 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
