Before setting the valve body, it is important to install a brand new 2/4 clutch oil seal. If needed, add new O-rings where they should be found on the oil transfer tubes. Pull the manual lever open as wide as it will go to avoid binding and place the manual valve pin into its hole in the rooster comb. Fit the underdrive compounder assembly's oil transfer tubes into the valve body, then press it carefully into position. Slider the cylindrical end of the twenty-one valve body into the case and tighten its bolts to 6 Nm (50 in. lbs.). Clip the detente arm onto the tab at the valve body and attach it tightly with a screw tightened to 6 Nm (50 in. lbs.). Attach the electrical connector to the valve body, next install the valve body oil pan with a line of Mopar(R) Atf Rtv (Ms-gf41). Tighten both the upper and lower valve body oil pan bolts to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). If the vehicle has a front sound damper, mount the cover and its bolts. Turn the steering wheel fully left and then, if your machine supports it, mount the bolt from the ground cable on the ground and the clip at the valve body pan. Attach one end of the cable for the shift linkage to the manual lever and the other end where it joins the solenoid pack connector beneath the valve body oil pan. Join both ends of the line so you hear a click, secure them and then test the connection by pulling them to confirm it. First, put in the upper radiator hose and its clamps, then set up the coolant recovery device. Attach the exhaust crossover pipe and, if it is present, set the relay into the core support. Afterward, place the battery in its tray, fill all necessary fluids, use the transmission and do a road test.
