How to Service and Repair Trunk Lid Lift Support on Chrysler Voyager?

To service or fix the trunk/liftgate shock/support, release the latch of the liftgate, lift it all the way up and keep it upright using a lifting device. Take out the weather strip from above the D-pillar flange which meets the end pivot of the liftgate, as well as remove the bolts securing the end pivot to the D-pillar and the bolt that holds the liftgate prop to the liftgate, making it easy to pull the prop assembly from the vehicle. When you install, join the cylinder end to the D-pillar and attach the shaft end to the liftgate. Place the prop assembly, fit the lifting bolt, join the end pivot bolt and tighten both to 34 N.m (25 ft.lbs.) torque. After that, put the liftgate opening weather strip onto the D-pillar flange near the end pivot of the prop assembly, close the liftgate and check if everything is working fine.
