  The first step is to disconnect the negative Battery Cable and let the refrigerant out of the vehicle. Lift and stabilize the vehicle, then take off the right front wheel. Put the outer part of the right Wheelhouse splash shield slightly up. After that, detach the nut that holds the A/C refrigerant line to the A/C accumulator, remove the A/C liquid line from the A/C accumulator and throw away the O-ring seal and gasket. Loose the bolt holding the liquid jumper line to the A/C accumulator, unplug the line and discard the O-ring seal and gasket. Take the A/C suction line out of the plastic bracket that holds it on the accumulator. Afterward, remove the two bolts that hold the A/C accumulator to the right front frame rail and remove the unit. Plugs should be attached or tape should be used on the open ports and fittings on the refrigerant line and accumulator.

  The first thing to do for A/C accumulator install is to set the refrigerant oil correctly to stop malfunction and avoid damaging the compressor. If you're only replacing the A/C accumulator, pour 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the existing oil into the refrigerant system. Check the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to know how much oil to add if you are replacing several components. Replace both the O-ring seals and gaskets on the refrigerant lines whenever you remove them to avoid leaks. Place the A/C accumulator on top of the right front frame rail and bolt it down so that the bolts reach a tightness of 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.). Slip the suction line into its fitting in the plastic accumulator bracket, then clean off the tape and any plugs at the ports and fittings of the refrigerant line. Wet the new O-ring seals and gaskets with clean refrigerant oil, attach them to the proper spots on the refrigerant lines and only use materials suitable for the R-134a system. Secure the A/C liquid line to the accumulator and turn the retaining nut up to 5 Nm just like you did for all the other retaining nuts. Install the right front splash shield on the wheel and position the wheel before you can bring the car back to the ground and reattach the negative battery wire. Don't try to run the engine with vacuum present in the A/C system, as it may injure the compressor. Evacuate the system, add 30 milliliters (1.0 fluid ounce) of refrigerant oil (if the accumulator is being replaced), look at the chart and choose the proper oil for each component in the A/C system.
