How to Install an Airbag on Dodge Challenger?

Pin the curtain air bag along the side roof rail in the car using the pushpins. Mount the inflator bolt onto the C/D-pillar and tighten it down to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Attach the front tether to the A-pillar and put in a new push pin. Screw the brackets attaching the curtain air bag to the spring nuts along the roof side rail and tighten each one to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Join the inflator with the curtain air bag squib electrical connector. In the end, secure the headliner to your car. You should never connect the battery negative cable during the system test, since not doing so may cause you serious or fatal harm.

How to Safely Remove and Service a Driver Airbag on Dodge Challenger?

Start by removing the negative battery cable and wait two minutes so the reserve capacitor can discharge and stop the air bag from accidentally operating while you remove it. After that, reach behind the steering wheel and take out both screw covers and screws holding the driver air bag in place. Avoid pulling on the horn switch feed pigtail wire when you remove the air bag or horn switch connectors; doing so might cause damage to either the feed circuit or the horn switch membrane. Pull the air bag back only far enough to remove the two air bag squib connectors and the horn connector and then detach the driver air bag from the steering column. A driver air bag trim cover is replaceable; if the switch of the horn malfunctions or the trim cover is damaged, the air bag cushion assembly may be placed in a new trim cover. If the air bag is defective, it must be changed and the connected trim cover must also be changed.
