Remove the valve body by first taking out the pins connecting the transmission range sensor and the solenoid/pressure switch assembly. If the vehicle comes with the line, detach the variable line pressure connector. Then, separate the
Shift Cable from the shift lever at the transmission and rotate the manual shift lever clockwise past the L position and remove the manual shift lever from its shaft. One of the oil pan bolts leaves the factory with a sealing patch on it, meaning you should keep it separate. Undo all the transmission pan bolts and next remove the transmission oil pan. Following that, take out the
Oil Filter from the valve body which is retained by two screws. Lower the saw under the outboard motor and remove all bolts connecting the valve body to the motor case. Take care not to lose the overdrive and underdrive accumulators and springs as you work because they could come loose. Afterwards, carefully separate the valve body assembly from the transmission.
