How to Install an A/C Expansion Valve on Dodge Charger?

Before installing the expansion valve, take out the tape or plugs from the evaporator tube fittings and all the valve ports. Just before installation, lubricate a new dual plane seal with clean refrigerant oil and then connect it to the evaporator tube fittings, following the guidelines of using a special R-134a seal and A/C compressor recommended oil. After that, fit the expansion valve (2) to the evaporator tube tapping block in the foam seal panel (3) and hold it in place with two bolts (1), tightening each to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). Uncover the taped or plugged openings in the suction and liquid line fittings, slip another new dual plane seal into place and apply clean oil to it before fitting it on. Fasten the refrigerant line tapping block (10) to the A/C expansion valve (1) with nut (9) and tighten it to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Fix the bracket to the left front shock tower using the bolt and set it to torque of 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). Place the central harness (3) onto the A/C pressure transducer (2) and then reconnect the battery's negative cable. Next, knock out the refrigerant, adjust the oil in the system to the correct level and top up the refrigerant as it should be.
