  For the 2.7L engine, clean the mounting area before setting up the EGR Valve. After that, attach the EGR valve to the appropriate location with the EGR valve mounting bolts (1). Look at the rubber silicone seals on the Intake Manifold end of the EGR Tube before fitting the upper tube to the intake manifold. Put a fresh gasket on the EGR valve and the upper tube, then attach bolts (2). The next step is to place the lower tube on the Exhaust Manifold, use a new gasket between the EGR valve and lower tube and bolt it down (3). Turn the lower tube bolts to the EGR valve (3) to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) and the lower tube bolts to the exhaust manifold to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). Tigthten the bolts at the upper tube to the EGR valve (2) to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) and the EGR valve to cylinder head bolts (1) to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.). Join the electrical connector to the EGR valve and secure it and then move and attache the purge solenoid to its bracket. Afterward, secure the negative Battery Cable and scan the computer to delete any prior DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

  Start the process by first cleaning where the EGR valve will be attached to the vehicle. Place the EGR valve in position using the supplied bolts and examine the rubber silicone seals on the Intake Manifold end of the tube. Install the upper tube into the intake manifold and make sure the silicone rubber seals are in the right place and damage free. Put a new gasket on top of the EGR valve, insert the bolts and tighten them (2). Afterward, secure the lower tube to the Exhaust Manifold, ensuring you place a new gasket between them and add three bolts. Apply 11 Nm of torque (95 in. lbs.) to bolts (3) between the lower tube and EGR valve and use 31 Nm of torque (275 in. lbs.) for lower tube to exhaust manifold bolts. Turn the upper tube to EGR valve bolts (2) to 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.) and the EGR valve to cylinder head bolts (1) to 31 Nm (275 in. lbs.). Once you have the electrical connector on the EGR valve, put it in position and lock it, then position and set the purge solenoid in its bracket. Then, reconnect the negative Battery Cable.
