First, remove the gas line from the battery in the trunk and also disconnect the intake air temperature sensor. Disconnect the air cleaner housing assembly, the tube of the oil dipstick and the
Oxygen Sensor. After removing the upper and lower heat shields, place the rocket under a hoist. Disconnect the oxygen sensor at the bottom of the manifold and pull out the exhaust pipe. After that, remove the bolts holding the exhaust manifold onto the head and remove the manifold. Look for cracks or damage on the exhaust manifolds, make sure they are not warped and check the exhaust manifold gasket for unusual color or shape. Also, smooth on a level and straight surface using a straightedge and thickness gauge to spot any irregularities on the cylinder head mounting surface. Link the negative
Battery Cable and then slowly raise the car, putting in the new gasket and manifold. Tighten the bolts from the center out to 23 Nm (200 inch lbs.). Rebolting the heat shields below and above the engine is step two; tighten the bolts to 28 Nm, then link the exhaust pipes to the manifolds and join the oxygen sensor connections below. Drop the car to the ground, set the oxygen sensor in place, link its power connection and then attach the negative battery cable again.
